A bike I'm building up
So a few months ago my track bike got stolen from my house. A couple friends saw someone riding it before, so I was hoping I would see the person riding it so I could get it back. I still haven't seen it myself, so I decided to start building up a new one. It's going to be based around a black Leader 735TR frame. Here's a picture of the same frame, but in green: http://velospace.org/files/65465.jpg
I have a bunch of other parts for my bike too. I should have my bike finished before holiday break. I'm excited.

There's an article on my RSS feed from The Press Democrat that is about a man in possession of heroin. The guy was only pulled over for talking on the cellphone, but it led to the officer searching his car and he found about six pounds of heroin wrapped up. The guy was an immigrant driving without a license, so he will be getting multiple charges.
One thing I don't understand about these drug laws are why people can get multiple charges for the possession of a substance. The man had heroin in his possession, but it was in a car, so he gets another charge for the transportation of it. What if he was just keeping it in his car? I know it seems unlikely, but to say he wasn't is assuming things, not the truth.

Elections
Many people are going out to vote, and the results seem to show that Obama is winning right now. A town in New Hampshire was the first one to vote, and has been for 60 years. Polls for them were opened at midnight, and had a 100% turnout. Even Hillary Clinton thinks that Obama will win the election. Obama has held the lead for a while, but a number of factors can change that.

Girl Stoned To Death In Somalia
A thirteen year old girl who was raped just recently got stoned to death in Somalia. Many reporters estimated that the girl was 23, but Amnesty International said that it was a 13 year old girl who was raped. The family tried to report the rape, but police accused her of adultery and then detained her. If the girl was 13, it would have been illegal to convict her for adultery. 50 men stoned her in a football stadium in front of 1000 people. A lot of the people watching this event said it was wrong, but they couldn't do anything because the authorities were armed. I personally think this event is really wrong, and they need to change some things over there.

Virus that steals bank accounts
A trojan virus was found by RSA, who helps fortune 500 keep their networks secure. This virus steals online bank account info, and infects your computer sneakily. The type of trojan it is, is a "drive by", which works very discreetly. They say more than 270,000 bank accounts and just about as many credit cards have been compromised by this virus since 2006. The creators of this virus release new variations, which keeps the virus a lot harder to stop.

Refugee's Shelter In Congo
Camps in Congo were destroyed recently, and now 50,000 people have nowhere to go. Because of all the problems there, aid agencies haven't been bringing the people food and water. The congolese government believes that Rwanda is backing the group that is attacking them. There are 17,000 UN troops out there, but it would be too hard for them to stop all the conflict immediately. The Congo government is currently saying they are willing to negotiate with General Nkunda, so he and his troops will stop the killing, pillaging, and raping.

Man on a secret mission
This story takes place in Knoxville, Tennessee. A man called the police from the air conditioning vent of the Knoxville Museum of Art. The man told them he was a special agent from the United States Illuminati, and was there to defuse and confiscate a soviet nuclear warhead. He said that the bomb was in a blue cow sculpture stored in the museums basement. While the "agent" was in the air vent, his "agency" called and said they made a mistake, and that the bomb was in a museum in a different city. The man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.
This man must have some very bad mental problems, or had other intentions, like stealing something from the museum. Either way, this guy did a very bad job at what he was trying to do.

Cornell University Grows a Synthetic Tree
Scientists at Cornell university made a synthetic tree out of a water transporting tissue called xylem, which has hydrogel capillaries. This material allows water to evaporate at a very similar rate to trees. They use hydrogel in contact lenses as well. Since the synthetic tree was a success, they have ideas of using them to heat offices and other buildings, and also possibly use it to cool down computers.

iPhone can be used as a remote
Digg's rss feed had a link to an article saying the iPhone can be used as a remote. There are multiple applications already made for the iphone so you can use it as a remote. The phone uses wifi to send the signal to whatever device, so you can use it even from across the country. I think this software made for the iphones is pretty handy, and practical.
