Man on a secret mission

This story takes place in Knoxville, Tennessee. A man called the police from the air conditioning vent of the Knoxville Museum of Art. The man told them he was a special agent from the United States Illuminati, and was there to defuse and confiscate a soviet nuclear warhead. He said that the bomb was in a blue cow sculpture stored in the museums basement. While the "agent" was in the air vent, his "agency" called and said they made a mistake, and that the bomb was in a museum in a different city. The man was arrested and charged with aggravated robbery.

This man must have some very bad mental problems, or had other intentions, like stealing something from the museum. Either way, this guy did a very bad job at what he was trying to do.

Cornell University Grows a Synthetic Tree

Scientists at Cornell university made a synthetic tree out of a water transporting tissue called xylem, which has hydrogel capillaries. This material allows water to evaporate at a very similar rate to trees. They use hydrogel in contact lenses as well. Since the synthetic tree was a success, they have ideas of using them to heat offices and other buildings, and also possibly use it to cool down computers.

iPhone can be used as a remote

Digg's rss feed had a link to an article saying the iPhone can be used as a remote. There are multiple applications already made for the iphone so you can use it as a remote. The phone uses wifi to send the signal to whatever device, so you can use it even from across the country. I think this software made for the iphones is pretty handy, and practical.
